Toes or Head?

Today I listened to one  of my favourite songs on the Kings of Leon album, "be somebody". I've realised in order to leave a certain feeling behind I must also leave this particular song behind. This erks me to say the least. When a song you totally love reminds your heart of something hurtful, all because some silly boy tainted such a perfect memory, the sound that used to soothe your soul now forces you to revisit that feeling. A loss of something beautiful. Good bye song ….. I'll put you in the box for now, close the lid and re visit once I'm free. Of the memory that is. Or at least at peace with it.

Of course this begs the question, "what in the hell are you talking about Joss?" Some questions are best left unanswered...

Slept on the bus last night. It was bloody freezing. Sven did tell me there was no electricity, but last time he said that there was just enough for a little heater to run. But not this time. I felt like I was camping  in the forest in Devon.  I had to make some hard decisions. My toes or my head? The cover wasn't long enough to cover both at one time. So, I gave up at 8 am. I just couldn't deal the chill. So I jumped out of bed threw on many items of very random clothing, 2 scarfs, 2 pairs of gloves, ear muffs....and I made my way into the hotel to warm up and have some breakie.

Lovely! Hot coffee....mmm....praise the Lord! I was safe inside. I read my book for a while. Funny book it is, but I'm actually into it. The author keeps making up words, but I can relate to that so I'm not completely put off by it. Its really like a chick flick on pages. Not deep but gives me something to do when everyone else is sleeping and there's no one to talk to. Now I'm a bit sleepy, but not tired enough to sleep. This tour has changed my sleeping patterns. I used to be able to sleep any where, any time, any place....unfortunately those days are gone. Damn!

So this is the second to last show in Groningen. So far so good. Let's see if we can keep it going till the last note played. I'm going home tomorrow morning just really quickly to walk the dogs then back up to London. I miss them, and mum too. Its well worth the trip.

I cant wait  :)

Consolation - 2010-03-10
Hope your work schedule allows u more time with your friends and family. Your fans won't abandon u. I walked past u in a back parking lot during a sound check. Did not know who u were. Forgive my ignorance Joss fans. I listen to island music mainly. We gave half smiles to eachother and I went on my way. In a deep funk lost trying to find my way. Someone threw me for a loop. There the Tenderoni in the back parking lot stood in comfy sweats belting a lyric or two. I managed to get a last ticket in. During the show u spotted me twice and scared the poop out of me. I was maybe 15 ft off the side. I had to ask the people around me who u were and what your story was. I know I'm an idiot but I'm from an island. Luv reggae music. But that night u were a cool breeze in the hot mess I was in. U were what I needed to move on. Your music and lyrics helped nudge me forward and that's what I needed. I'm not completely free but me dear your light guides me in the right direction. So for that I must thank u from half way around the world. I do know this if it's any consolation to you and your struggle with a past luv. Honor the memory of what it was coz it helps soothe your mind from beating yourself up. Relationships like a lovely tide coming into shore. When it washes back to sea when it's gone... it leaves behind some beautiful moments besides the BS. Understand you were a part of the equation but not the problem. That wasn't your lesson to learn me dear. Beau was the immature one. His lesson to learn. You have the world at your figer tips luv. Now you have the opportunity to luv even better and greater. Bless!... PS I would've drop kicked that Side Show Bob back into the 90's for touching you. Irie luv bless! Your music and spirit allowed me to laugh, smile and luv again. Mahalo nui loa Joss (Hawaiian for thx a bunch)

Inauguration Ball - 2010-03-10
I read somewhere on the internet that Joss was suppose to sing at the presidential election ball back in November. If this was true, what happened?? I was so looking forward to seeing Joss sing at the Ball.

I understand what you are saying ... - 2010-03-10
I really understand what you are meaning with the song-thing you cannot listen anymore. One of my favourites songs was always "Gone Away" from The Offspring. it is a very sad song, but has wonderfull lyrics (i you do not know the song, check it aou on Youtube). Well, my father died 2 months ago and it still hurts like hell and I am not able anymore to listen to that song, it hurts too much :-( I already wrote you an email, hope you got it, but again, thank you very much for the dedication of "Incredible" in Hamburg, you made me really happy with that performance, it was fantastic :-) Kind regards and all the best for the last steps of your tour, Emilio

If your voice goes the coldness of the bus for hours can contribute to that. You deserve the best, not better, a heated bus is not too much to ask. Your vocal cords have been working in an impressive or condensed schedule. I'm glad you'll be home soon. I see your dogs looking at you trying to tell you never to leave again, not that they were in bad company - you are their owner and I know technically it's not a baby but you should be around on a consistent basis because they can't comprehend words and don't understand the responsibilities that you have (to inspire). Hopefully it'll be clear skies when you walk them, or get reaquainted, and I hope you have a lovely concert in London, and that your Mom makes you your favorite dish as a welcome home, though she might ask you to play a set at her club after you eat - a poor attempt at humor since I've never met your mother.
